ADELE event and meeting at the Muntpunt Library

On February 28 and March 1 2023, Public Libraries 2030 (PL2030) hosted the ADELE project partners at the Muntpunt Library for the first ADELE event and a partner meeting. The day kicked off with a quick session for partners to re-connect in person before the event was due to start in the afternoon.

The ADELE “boosting digital readiness in public libraries” event

To honour the digital  nature of this Erasmus+ project, PL2030 organised a recorded hybrid meeting where over 70 library professionals joined online along with the in person participants. To kick-off the event, Ilona Kish Director of PL2030, introduced the project briefly and handed the floor over to Gina Ebner, Secretary General of the European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA), who dove into the intersection between public libraries and non-formal adult education and how it is crucial to bring these together. Following on from that, we heard from Edith Leblanc, Project Manager at CultuurConnect, who explained how digital maturity is approached in Flemish libraries. To wrap up the first portion of the event, the ADELE team presented the self-assessment tool and outlined the next steps prior to making the tool available.

Once the opening presentations were done, the in person participants were invited to a roundtable where they dove into the areas of the tool and gave their feedback on how they would approach improving these areas from an institutional perspective. This interactive session will help the ADELE team develop the content for the Learning, Teaching and Training Activities that will happen later on in the project to better support institutional digital development.

Following on from the event, the ADELE team met on March 1 2023 to discuss the progress made on the project over the last 12 months and map out the next steps of the project.  We took stock of the achievements thus far including the development of the tool and are looking forward to the Learning, Teaching and Training Activities coming up later this year.
